Project Management Essentials (PME)

This course is designed for any practitioner (at any company level) who needs, for professional reasons, to work in or cooperate with projects. The course is a simplified alternative to the PMF course, dedicated to project team members.

Duration: 2 days

Credits: 14 PDU’s (Professional Development Units) or contact hours

Goal: The course is intended to enhance the understanding of the project environment and
to improve the participants’ability in applying project management processes. The course
is based on “A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide),
Project Management Institute, Inc.” knowledge area.

Objectives:

  • Understand the project environment
  • Prepare and/or analyze a Project Charter
  • Develop a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), a WBS dictionary and a Responsibility Assignment Matrix (RAM)
  • Develop a network diagram and a project schedule
  • Develop a project budget
  • Understand the basics of EVM (Earned Value Management)
  • Understand the basics of Risk Management

The participants practice on a simple case, that simulates a general life environment.
