Barcelona, Spain November 27th
Comau brings its e-mobility competence at Battery Innovation Days 2024, held in Barcelona, Spain, November 26 – 27. The 4th Edition of the unique 2-day Hybrid Experience was designed to spark conversations on the latest developments in the European R&I Battery domain. Driven by the common belief that batteries are a crucial to achieving the pan-European goal of zero-emissions, Comau’s Gian Carlo Tronzano, Head of Battery Cell Global Competence Center and of P&E e-Mobility, was asked to lead a key session looking at how to foster a competitive and sustainable European battery value chain.
On the morning of November 27th, Mr. Tronzano led the session “Empowering Technological Sovereignty: Collaborative Solutions for Localizing Gigafactory Equipment in the Net Zero Battery Sector”. The discussion, which was open to all attendees at the conference, focused on fostering innovation and building localized production capacities for the sustainable growth of the European battery sector.
As one of the early movers in the electrification arena, Comau’s innovative offering covers manufacturing processes for BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) from cell manufacturing, pack assembly to dismantling and recycling, at different scale levels. With more than 50 years of experience in industrial automation and a portfolio of groundbreaking products and technologies that span the electrification value chain, Comau’s products, processes, and technologies for electrification enable the company to manage everything from – laboratory and pre-production to mass production. This includes solutions for battery cells manufacturing for formation and testing battery modules, packs, trays, all the way through to end-of-line testing and end of life processing solutions.
“Innovation is the driving force behind making high-performance batteries and electric vehicles more sustainable, efficient, and accessible. By focusing on scalable, adaptable technologies, we are not only accelerating the transition to a cleaner, smarter transportation infrastructure but also empowering technological sovereignty. Developing flexible technologies that can adapt to demands is essential, our collaborative solutions enable customers to localize gigafactory equipment and build the infrastructure needed to meet the dynamic demands of electrification today and in the future.”
