Shanghai, Nov 4, 2022 – On October 26 Geely Yiwu Engine Plant held the “BHE 100,000 units off-line ceremony” to celebrate the achievement of this important milestone. During the event, Comau received a “Best Supplier Award” for its outstanding technical innovation, professional engineering management and reliable customer service in this engine retooling project.
Comau and Geely have long maintained a stable partnership, with Comau supporting Geely in numerous engine manufacturing and retooling projects in China. This year in particular, with recurring outbreaks of the pandemic leading to transportation and logistics disruptions, and consequent shortages of manpower and materials, the Comau team acted on time, ensured quality, and worked with Geely to overcome the difficulties. These efforts were unanimously recognized by the customer. Of note, Comau received the “Excellent Supplier Award” from Geely Guiyang Engine in August, 2022, prior to which the company was recognized for having developed and deployed an end-to-end automated e-drive assembly line for the Geely Veremt plant in Ningbo. Similarly, the company won the “Best Cooperation Award” at the Geely Auto 2019 Annual Supplier Conference honoring partners in the field of powertrain assembly.
From the successful Start Of Production (SOP) of the BHE engine retooling project in March 2022 to mass production, Comau and Geely Yiwu Engine Plant have worked together to advance the implementation of the project. In tandem, Comau has strictly adhered to the schedule, and despite the serious pandemic situation, has both responded quickly and actively coordinated internal and external resources. Working onsite while meeting the strict pandemic prevention requirements in force at the time, the team successfully completed commissioning, resumed production on schedule, and implemented the expected retooling.

OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) has also increased, from less than 50% to more than 90%, with annual production capacity exceeding 400,000 units and monthly production exceeding 20,000 units.”
