Creating an equal work environment that protects diversity has always been a priority for Comau. Proof of this is the achievement of the UNI/PdR 125:2022 certification for Gender Equality, with which the company commits to define a series of KPIs to monitor, implement and improve company policies and practices to offer equal opportunities for growth and achievement to all its employees, regardless of gender.
To ensure the proper implementation of the new standard, Comau has appointed an internal Gender Equality Commission: a working group chaired by Comau CEO Pietro Gorlier, who is joined by Simona Mariani, General Counsel, as Vice President, and Valeria Angela Ricotta, Comau’s Employee Experience Director, as DEI Manager. The other 3 members of the committee are Livio Milano CHRO, Internal Audit & Corporate Sustainability Manager Francesco Allegra and CMO Stefania Ferrero, all members of the executive team, demonstrating internal commitment. The new committee approved internal rules of procedure, a working budget, and a strategic plan for the initiation of activities currently underway as well as those to be implemented in 2025, in line with the required annual monitoring of the certification.
As a company certified for gender equality, Comau aims to foster the development of a more open and equitable workplace through the implementation of concrete projects. For example, through activities that promote balanced gender representation, training activities dedicated to equal opportunity, more inclusive selection processes, but also initiatives that incentivize equal pay, equal career advancement opportunities, and support for motherhood and parenthood. In addition, by adhering to this standard, Comau will be able to obtain reward scores to access European, national and regional funds and public tenders, strengthening its attractiveness to new talent by bringing significant benefits to the work of the entire organization and its employees.
“Comau has always been attentive to valuing people, so we are extremely pleased to have obtained an external recognition that attests to our commitment to the development of an equal and welcoming workplace. This new certification path has also been an opportunity to improve our internal processes and increase company inclusiveness even more. It is therefore not an end point, but a stimulus to offer, today and in the future, a professional environment where gender equality is no longer a goal to be achieved but an established reality.”
Simona Mariani, Legal Counsel and DEI Committee Vice President
