During the initiative promoted by ICCF (Italy China Council Foundation) and Class Editori, now in its nineteenth edition, Comau received the “China Awards VIA DELLA SETA 2024” award along with important companies and personalities who have been able to make the most of the opportunities offered by trade exchanges between Italy and China.
Comau was honored for its important achievements in recent years, and especially in 2024, in the implementation in the Chinese market of innovative projects for important client companies, thus also fostering the development of profitable trade relations between Italy and China.
These include, in particular, the design and implementation of a flexible automation solution for the production of next-generation electric propulsion systems for NIO, a manufacturer of electric cars, winning from the customer the “NIO Quality Premium Partner” award for its excellent qualities as a technology supplier. Among other projects, Comau also collaborated with JMC Ford to which it provided a highly flexible assembly solution for the production of high-end pickup trucks. For HYCET, a subsidiary of Great Wall Motor and a leading manufacturer of Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT) technology, Comau focused on the design and installation of a high-volume automated assembly line to produce L.E.M.O.N., a hybrid transmission system.
Comau was also notable for its contribution at a number of major conferences and events, such as the Comau APAC Supplier Conference in Shanghai, where it presented and discussed new trends in the industry, emphasizing the importance of sustainable development in the supply chain. The company also held a Tech Day at its Shanghai headquarters innovation center and took part in the 2024 ATC New Energy EIC Intelligent Manufacturing Technology Week, where it launched new automation solutions, such as the Hairpin Stator system for electric motors.
The awards presentation took place in the traditional setting of the “Leonardo da Vinci” Museum of Science and Technology in Milan, followed by a charity dinner to fund scholarships aimed at Polytechnic students involved in activities that could represent a link between the two countries.
The award was collected by Stefania Ferrero, Chief Marketing and Solutions Portfolio Officer, who said, “This award is an authoritative recognition of our commitment to developing technologies that are able to meet the needs of customers all over the world. In fact, Comau is an Italian company that, since its foundation, has had a strong international vocation. Our historical presence in China-which represents a very important market for us-is precisely a testament to Comau’s ability to combine a global vision with local roots.”
Luca Fameli, Head of Sales APAC concluded, “Comau, thanks to its long-standing presence in China, has managed not only to meet the production needs of Chinese and international companies operating in the local market, but also to develop projects in China that have been implemented in international markets, in different business areas. Being able to create a solid connection between Italy and China, capable of operating worldwide, is one of our strengths.”
