Shanghai, Jul 26, 2022 – According to the latest data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), automobile production and sales in the first half of this year totaled 12.117 million units and 12.057 million units, respectively. The data also shows that the Chinese automobile industry is moving toward an increasingly high level of automation. Furthermore, the market share of new energy vehicles reached 21.6% in June of this year, while the demand for standardized, modular and scalable flexible solutions is driving the rapid growth of the automation market.
As a core component of new energy vehicles, the battery accounts for nearly 40% of the vehicle’s cost. Applying automation solutions to improve the production efficiency of electric batteries is one of the ways to improve the competitiveness of the companies concerned, as is providing an “acceleration package” for product introduction by OEMs.
With the aim of presenting customers with the latest technologies and solutions in these areas, Comau China has decided to hold a special webinar to introduce attendees to the innovative solutions and products that help OEMs to effectively increase their production capacity in light of the recent trend toward new processes. In doing so, Comau will leverage its long standing experience in automation systems to cover the key elements of the electrification value chain, which include developing innovative products and processes as well as flexible, modular and cost-effective engineering solutions.
The webinar will focus on innovative technologies for new energy vehicles and showcase Comau’s strong capabilities and expertise as an integrated supplier in electric vehicle manufacturing, covering the entire battery manufacturing process from soft pack battery stacking and welding to final assembly. At the same time, representative cases of providing battery module and pack assembly solutions for a US OEM and Chinese EV OEM will be presented.
