Comau has joined EIT Manufacturing, an Innovation Community within the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), in their efforts to help students and young professionals explore new trends in producing safe, sustainable batteries with an eye to a carbon-neutral future. As one of the seven expert presenters of Battery Manufacturing: Trends in Battery Engineering, Comau’s Giovanni Di Stefano, Nicola Longo and Carlo Novarese were tasked with explaining the ins and outs of next-generation battery production – including the use of thermal imaging and artificial intelligence to ensure battery integrity and performance.
During the free, 3-week online course, which covered topics ranging from technical characteristics of clean storage technologies to the pros, cons and production process specifics for different battery formats, participants learned about the fundamental importance of batteries and battery engineering. To this end, Comau’s experts offered a detailed overview of battery welding, hybrid thermography inspection and the primary phases of the battery cell manufacturing process. See the video lessons!
